A culinary day in Rome

“Rome was a poem pressed into service as a city”

– Anatole Broyard.

The monuments, the art, the fine cuisine, Rome has it all. A city so historical & beautiful that it’s hard to compare to any other place. The capital of Italy is one of our favorite places to visit. In the following, we want to share some of our favorite food places with you.

Breakfast / Brunch

  • L’antico Forno di Piazza Trevi – the cornetti are to die for!

  • San’t Eustachio Caffe – life is too short for bad coffee.

  • Marigold – ideal for breakfast or brunch. They serve homemade pastry and very good avocado bread.

*PS: Drinking coffee directly at the bar is always cheaper than sitting down.

Aperitivo

  • Terrazza Borromini – overlooking (almost) the entire city, this bar is perfect for enjoying a spritz & the sunset.

  • The rooftop bar at the Hotel de la Ville – overseeing the Spanish steps, this bar not only grants majestic views of the city but also enchants with its romantic red & white outside interior.

  • Antica Enoteca – built in 1726 this cozy bar serves mean aperitivo accompanied by outstanding little bites.

  • Ombre Rosse – with a beautiful terrace close to Gianicolo, this bar offers an amazing atmosphere as well as aesthetic indoor seating.

Restaurants

  • Hostaria Da Pietro – located near the famous piazza Popolo, this restaurant is a real gem. Nothing but homemade Italian cuisine since 1946.

  • Taverna Trilussa – a traditional Italian restaurant that serves pasta right out of the pan where it was cooked. Not to forget the many unbelievable good starters (we can especially recommend the grilled artichokes). This restaurant is definitely one of our favorites.

  • Checco al Carrettiere – this restaurant has a lovely outside courtyard to enjoy the probably best Parmigiana in Rome.

  • Dal Bolognese – great food out of the Emilia Romagna area in Italy. Best tagliatelle dal Bolognese you will ever have!

  • Afredo alla scrofa – for all alfredo lovers a must do. In this restaurant this dish was invented & they still serve it from the original recipe.

  • Il Ciociaro – yes, they serve pasta out of a giant cheese wheel, what more is there to say.

  • Osteria da fortuna – they hand make pasta right in front of you, definitely a must try!

  • La Matricianella - real Roman kitchen. Great food especially fried artichokes and amatriciana pasta.

  • Aroma - stunning view, good food.

With its charming design and compact size, the Paloma Tote Bag is an ideal choice for exploring the enchanting streets of Rome, blending seamlessly with the city’s romantic atmosphere.
